Artists participating in Cherrywood Fabrics’s Art Quilt Challenge use the company’s hand dyed fabrics for their creations. The fabrics look and feel like suede and are a dream to use so Art Quilters from all over the country anticipate each year’s challenge topic. The Diana Cherrywood Challenge 2020-21 took inspiration from Diana, Princess of Wales, to create unique quilts using a limited color palette — pink and white. All of the quilts are the same color, fabric, size, and theme and were divided into three touring groups: Diamond, Pearl, and Rose. Fiber Art at The Barn (FAB) is sponsoring an exhibition of the DIamond and Pearl Collections. Information about this show:
The next Cherrywood Fabrics Challenge Exhibition will be in 2022. The theme will be GRAFFITI. more info cherrywoodfabrics.com/pages/graffiti-cherrywood-challenge The goals of FAB are not only to teach people skills to make fiber arts, but also to introduce fiber arts to the community. By sponsoring traveling shows, visitors are seeing a different aspect of the fiber art world and enjoy the works of fiber artists from all over the world. |
