Mariemont Preservation Foundation Funds Eighth Series

Written by Lynn Long. Posted in Foundation

We are thrilled to announce that Mariemont Preservation Foundation has once again underwritten our family cultural series at the Barn, "Mariemont Preservation Presents"! This series has brought such great events as the Playhouse in the Park "Off the Hill" touring shows; Madcap Puppet shows; performances by Children's Theatre and countless parent/child artmaking events.

Events like these showcase the original Resthaven Barn, which MPF had a hand in preserving, and reflect Mary Emery's life passion: "She embarked on a philanthropic program that endowed or initiated children's programs, ... an art museum, ... various cultural agencies, and other causes that benefited humankind. (Words from "Rich in Good Works" description on GoodReads).

This season, we have offered FREE streamable performances for families to enjoy in the safety of their own home, including "The Wind in the Willows" by Playhouse in the Park; "The Nutcracker", by MadCap Puppets; and "Martin's Dream" in celebration of MLK day, performed by The Children's Theatre "TCT on Tour". In February, families can stream "The Snowy Day and Other Stories" by CIncinnati Playhouse in the Park.

We are deeply grateful for continued funding from the Mariemont Preservation Foundation.

The Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization formed by the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati to convert the former Resthaven Barn in Mariemont as a community arts center, the Woman's Art Club Cultural Center. The Foundation maintains and operates the Barn and raises funds for its continuing development. We are celebrating the realization of a long-time dream: to conver the original Hayloft in the Barn to a flexible space for classes, workshops, movies, and performances, that can be accessed by elevator.
