Level: A basic familiarity with machine sewing and apparel construction is recommended

Come learn how to cut and sew a simple denim jacket or bolero from start to finish! This course provides a foundation in working with twill fabrics on a lockstitch or overlock machine. You will also learn how to sew in a separating zipper or button & loop closures.

This high-energy course is a hands-on, sew-along approach to learning how to work with denim and twill. The first session comprises step-by-step tutorials for tracing and cutting a jacket from a pattern. he remaining sessions comprise step-by-step tutorials for sewing & finishing your jacket. At the end of class, you will have created your own denim jacket or bolero and have the knowledge of how to complete their project at home if needed.

Materials List:

Denim Bolero Jacket Pattern, Box Coat Pattern, or other jacket pattern of your choice suitable to your sewing level. Denim, or other twill fabric of choice; refer to your pattern for the yardage needed. Separating zipper or buttons. All-Purpose and Topstitching thread if you want a particular color. A limited supply of notions (thread, buttons) will be available for use. Machines are available or you are welcome to bring your own.
