Feb 14th & 28th (not a serial course) from 6 - 8:45pm Come finish (or start) that project that has been on your mind or stashed in a box in the closet for a long time. This is open-ended learning in stitching, mending, or embellishing textiles. Students who have registered/paid in advance can send tutorial request(s) to the instructor (i.e. sewing in a zipper; how to construct a welt pocket; how to mend a hole in a sweater; how to choose the appropriate fabric for a project; how to use your machine; etc). If you have a question that starts with “How do I…” and has something to do with making apparel or home textiles, this is made for you! "Ice Cream Sewcials" are the space, motivation, and guidance to finish (or start) apparel and textile related projects. The sewcial starts with a sweet treat (not always ice cream) and ends with show + tell. At least 3 short tutorials (as requested by students or curated by the instructor) will take place throughout the sewcial. Participation in the tutorials and show + tell is optional. The rest of the time through the social allows plenty of time for socializing, stitching, and one-to-one help provided by the instructor.
