Join us for a fun, information packed 1-day workshop at The Mariemont Art Barn! Students will learn through hands-on experience, how to use acrylic paint to make flexible canvases that can be stitched by sewing machine. Each student will use reclaimed fabrics to create their own painted, pieced, quilted artwork. The instructor will demonstrate painting, cutting, piecing and quilting the finished work. Students will make marks, hand stitch (optional) and paint in the morning and cut/piece & quilt artwork in the afternoon. Finishing work by affixing to a canvas will be discussed. Color choices/design will be included as part of instruction. Students will leave class with a small painted work and a detailed handout including a materials list and resources. Best of all? The process is fun and improvisational. Students need to know how to use a sewing machine and machine rental is available for $10 (optional). ALL levels painters & sewists welcome. Must be 15 years old to attend. Cost: $100 (includes paint/fabric) |
