Thomas Jefferson said: “A Walk in Paris is a lesson in history, art, and the point of life.”

This 8 week lecture series by American/Parisian Gene Johnston will take you on that walk in the most beautiful city in the world, and to secret places in that 2,000 year old city that only Parisians know. Paris is a city that, for centuries, has been the epicenter of art and culture because of its contribution to art that made and changed art history. The series will cover in depth the artists, writers and people who made that contribution, and the great museums in Paris that house their work.

Paris has been the most written about, sung about, filmed, painted and visited city in the world. This visual presentation will show its gorgeous harmonious architecture, boulevards, parks and monuments in every area of Paris; and through its history, how Paris taught the world how to be a modern city.

There will also be travel tips: How to navigate French airports, train stations, and city transportation; how to read signage; how to order and eat like a local,; how and where to shop in its fabulous stores and book accommodations; and easy side trips out of Paris to see more of France.

Henry Miller said: “To know Paris is to know a great deal.” James Thurber said: “Paris is a university, a seminar, a post-graduate course in everything.”

The series will take place in the Loft at The Barn on Sunday afternoons (1 – 3pm) from September 8 – Nov. 3 (no lecture on Sept. 29th). An elevator is available to whisk you up to the Loft.

Fee is $50 for the entire series - register HERE
