Gallery Schedule

Thursdays 1 - 4pm in the classroom.

This class is oils only, for mid level and advanced students. 

Chuck will be teaching the elements of art as well as oil painting techniques. Students will be exploring design, shapes, edges, lines, values, etc in charcoal the first few classes before moving on to oils. We will then advance to black and white oil studies on canvas focusing on the same elements. At some point we will move to a limited palette after studying color. There will be at least one class about color mixing. After that we will be working with a full palette.

The class will be ongoing each week. The early segments of these classes will not be made up, but will be the foundation of what I will be teaching. Instructor demonstrations and lots of individual attention provided. Some students may advance faster than others and will not be held back.

All art supplies are the responsibility of the student.Please bring to the first class: soft vine charcoal, kneaded eraser, and a large charcoal pad.

Students who want to use this class as an open studio with instructor input are welcome.
