Learn to Make a Rag Rug using the Twining Method

Friday, September 29, 2017, 12:30pm - 03:00pm
by adminHits : 694

Do you remember the rugs on your grandmother’s floors from your childhood? Come learn to create a rag rug using the looms at the Barn. Bring an old sheet and fabric scraps for the weft (or use the Barn's supply of scrap fabric). You'll learn the words "warp" and "weft" as you tear up your old sheet and fabric scraps. Susan will show you how to warp your loom and begin weaving your rug. You will take the loom home with you for one week to continue working and meet individually to remove your rug from your loom. It’s fun and relaxing, and this rug will last forever! (The weavers shown holding their rug above loved it so much, they had Grandfather make them their own loom.)

Friday, August 25, 6 - 9pm

Class fee is $25; Loom rental $10
